Co-Directors
Maria Arevalo is a TEFL Volunteer living in Lori Marz. She was born in Colombia and later moved to Texas with her family. She attended Iowa State University where she majored in Chemical Engineering with minors in Anthropology and Biomedical Engineering. While in college she discovered her passion for outreach. She volunteered in youth organizations and worked with university clubs to promote STEM fields to underrepresented populations. She loves reading, cooking and spending time with her friends. She was an overnight camp counselor last year, where she met inspiring, vibrant and amazing young women and is excited to plan GLOW with the new team!

Amelia Boehme is a TEFL volunteer from Meghri. She studied Political Science, International Studies, and Gender Studies at the University of Wisconsin Madison. Amelia has served as a teacher and a mentor for students in America and abroad and helped facilitate girls' leadership programs while volunteering in Micronesia. She loves running, cooking, and travelling. After an amazing week as a counselor in Gavar last year, she is looking forward to working with the GLOW team again to design this summer’s camps!

Curriculum Coordinators
Genesis Valverde is a Community and Youth Development in Vayots Dzor Marz. She is from Salt Lake City, Utah. Genesis graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Social Work and Sociology. She has experience working with youth at a Children’s Justice Center and Women’s Domestic Violence Shelter. She is excited to meet GLOW campers and being a part of the GLOW family!

McKenzie Bueck is a TEFL Volunteer in Ararat Marz. She is from Ohio and graduated from Albion College where she studied Anthropology and Sociology. While in college she traveled all around the world, that is when she decided she wanted to work abroad. She loves to travel and explore new places. She wants to work with the GLOW team because she can bring fun and creativity to the GLOW camps where the girls can think outside of the box and find a colorful solution!

AfterGLOW Coordinators
Agnes Nguyen is a Community and Youth Development volunteer in Lori Marz. She is from California and studied Social Psychology in San Diego. She has previous experience working for a young women’s shelter. She loves reading, listening to music and spending time with friends. She is stoked to help GLOW campers with their projects!

Bianca Delgado-Jones is a Community and Youth Development volunteer, living and working in in Syunik Marz. She grew up in Texas and graduated from the University of Houston in 2015 with degrees in English Literature, Arab Studies, and Religious Studies. She is excited to partner with GLOW as one of their Project Design and Management trainers and monitors. She look forward to working with the future leaders of Armenia and teaching them how to design and implement a project in their communities.

Public Relations
Alex Rearick is from Anchorage, Alaska. He is a Community and Youth Development Volunteer in Shirak Marz. He’s loved his time here in Armenia, with some of his favorite experiences so far having been climbing mountains, exploring every corner of this country, and eating the wonderful food. This will be his second year working with GLOW, and he is excited to see how another group of extraordinary young women move through this program and go back to impact their own communities.

Scott Claggett completed his Bachelor's degree in Advertising and Journalism at West Virginia University in 2013. He worked in marketing and public relations for a couple of years before moving to China to earn his Master's degree in International Relations. After that, he came to Armenia where he currently serves as a TEFL(teaching English as a foreign language) volunteer in the village of Vardanidzor, located in Syunik Marz. In his spare time, Scott enjoys listening to music, reading, writing, and trying to stay up-to-date on world news. He is excited to use his PR skills for GLOW 2019!

Budget and Grants
Macy Galvan is a TEFL Volunteer living in Gegharkunik Marz. She graduated Bowdoin College where she majored in Sociology and Gender Women Studies. Macy has experience working as a mentor to college aged women in all women’s dormitory in Phnom Penh, has volunteered with disadvantaged communities at home and abroad, and has participated as a counselor during GLOW camps this past summer. She is excited to work alongside members of the GLOW Committee to create and implement successful, sustainable GLOW camps and programming.

Jadzia Haderman is from Dallas, Texas but is currently a volunteer serving in Ararat Marz. Jadzia has a combined bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, and Rehabilitation & Addiction Studies from the University of North Texas. She has worked within a large-scale non-profit and other social service institutions primarily working with the homeless, foster youth, substance addicted populations and individuals with physical and mental disabilities. Jadzia has experience creating programming, monitoring and evaluating improvement of the participants and of the program itself, and advocacy of disadvantaged populations. She is excited to be apart of GLOW and wants to help ensure that after the camp the participants take away a life changing experience!

Logistics
Jason Nguyen is a TEFL Volunteer in Kotayk Marz. He grew up in California, but attended University of Alaska where he majored in International Studies with a focus in Northeast Asia. He enjoys watching films and eating until his stomach hurts. He makes a lot of jokes that are funny in English but don't make sense in Armenian. He will use his amazing skills to coordinate logistics for GLOW 2019!
